    <p>The Bavarian state office for statistics<br /> and data processing (Bay. LfStaD) is<br /> responsible for the data collection,<br /> processing and dissemination of<br /> statistical information in the state of<br /> Bavaria. We are primarily concerned with<br /> the Inspire ANNEXES 2 &amp; 3 due to being one<br /> of the main data suppliers to the state of<br /> Bavaria. Additionally we are in the<br /> position of joint-responsibility with<br /> DESTATIS (the German federal statistical<br /> office) to facilitate the compliance /<br /> assist the implementation of the other<br /> statistical state-offices with the Inspire<br /> undertaking.</p>
    Main Activities: 
    The LfStaD is coordinating processes and implementing software to cater to the INSPIRE undertaking. Currently we plan to deliver Data and Metadata to INSPIRE via multiple channels: to the GDI-DE via the mechanism of the "Regionaldatenbank" (a harmonised database of statistical information throughout Germany), and to the GDI-BY via our own instance of the GENESIS database and further auxiliary GDI systems.

    Previous Experience relevant for INSPIRE development: 
    Currently very limited experience with regards to INSPIRE. We are a member of multiple national INSPIRE-related working groups (High level, SME level and technical level) and are in the process of building the necessary expertise and the required technical infrastructure.
