    Comments:
It seems to be most important to contribute as a NMCA to the implementing rules relating to data specification, network-services and sharing and re-use conditions as the Directive-draft primarily was influenced by user-requirements. Sustainable availability of reference data and their suitability for all policy areas is crucial for effective and efficient data policy on both the national and the Community level. The BEV would very be interested in participating in all these processes as there are many corresponding Austrian NGDI-efforts in progress. For example the implementation of the National Austrian Geo-Portal will be completed by the end of this year.
