    Formal Mandate: 
    <p>National Geographic High Council (NGHC) is the official, consultative and general body at the Public Administration of Spain where every GI producer and the main GI users at the three Government levels are members (Art. 9 Law 7/86 for Cartography in Spain, Royal Decree 1792/1999 creates NGHC). On April 2002 the NGHC committed to its Commission on Geomatics as Executive Board to define and setting up the NSDI of Spain (IDEE). The Commission on Geomatics is working through its IDEE Working Group established on November 2002, and reporting and advising to the NGHC.</p>
    Main Activities: 
    The IDEE Working Group of the Commission on Geomatics main objetive is to define a spanish project joining initiatives and data producer institutions according a decentralised and transparent for user schema, based on data harmonisation and compatibility and systems interoperability. The IDEE Working Group is developing the NSDI of Spain (IDEE) under the INSPIRE principles and according its rules. It is dealing with every INSPIRE area of interest and every theme from the INSPIRE Annexes. Working Group´s members are technical experts representatives from NGHC´members geographic data producers, academia and companies dealing with catalogue services and data services.

    Previous Experience relevant for INSPIRE development: 
    The Commission on Geomatics and IDEE Working Group ´s Chairman and members representing to the Ministry of Environment at the IDEE WG (Roberto Vallejo and Blanca Ruiz) are the members from Spain at the INSPIRE Expert Group. Several of the IDEE WG´s members (Antonio Arozarena, Michael Gould, Antonio Rodriguez) have been members at INSPIRE Working Groups. NGHC and its Commission on Geomatics and IDEE Working Group are working sending comments to the Environment Working Party of the Council of the European Union and to the Environment, Public Health and Food Security Commission of the European Parliament.

    At the IDEE Working Group GI producers, GI users, GI services providers from the public and private sector of Spain from almost every primary business are members.

    Ministry of Environment and Regional Departments related with Environment are members.
