    <p>A wholy owned sub-sidary of IDeA, governed<br /> by a board of Elected Members drawn from<br /> the Local Government Associations (LGA).</p> <p>Manage the procurement of services and GI<br /> on behalf of local government and defining<br /> the direction of local government's policy<br /> with regard to GI including developing the<br /> linkages with the Transformation Unit with<br /> regard to data standards and promotion of<br /> GI through the national strategy for local<br /> e-government and the UK GI Strategy.</p>
    Main Activities: 
    Managing a contractual framework called the Mapping Services Agreement (MSA). Managing the contractor delivering the technical and support infrastructure for the National Land and Property Gazetteer and National Street Gazetteer Hubs. Ensuring local government's needs, are met in terms of creation and use of gazetteers. Managing the re-procurement of services available to local government via an open procurement exercise on a regular basis.

    Created a nationally consistent index of land, property and streets from individual local authority lists. Additionally managed licence arrangements for access to these data sets.
