    <p>The ministry is responsible for the (national) policies in agriculture , nature conservation and food safety. It executes EU and national regulations for these subjects. (natura 2000, Common agriculutural program, rural area development progams))</p>
    Main Activities: 
    The department is responsibel for the national policies for rural development, agriculture, agro food trade and industry, Nature conservation, fisheries, and food safety. It has several dedicated agencies for the implentation of EU and National regulation (CAP, rural ara development programs, nature conservation, forest), has an inspection agency for maintaining regulations (nature, environment, food safety, plant and animal health) Implement and monitors Natura2000, has the national LPIS and registers the farmers landuse, crops and livestock (cattle, sheep and goat).

    the ministry and the agency has a bras experiance in producing publishing and sharing geo data in portals. participates in the national Geoportal. For farmers (CAP regulations) and nature organsiations interactive geo web apllications are developed by using OGC specifications. participating in the National INSPIRE organisation (Geonovum) Involved in the devopment of standards for electronic business in agro food branche, (ebXML) including the geo issues.
