    Formal Mandate: 
    <p>The Ministry for Environment, Energy and Climate Change<br /> is the Greek INSPIRE National Contact Point, since July<br /> 2013 (law 4164, Hellenic Government Gazette Issue A 156,<br /> 9.7.2013). The Ministry works to achieve the protection<br /> of the natural environment and resources, the improvement<br /> of quality of life, the mitigation and adjustment to the<br /> implications of climate change and the enhancement of<br /> mechanisms and institutions for environmental governance.<br /> Thus, it is also an important data producer.</p>
    Main Activities: 
    INSPIRE: Development, organization and maintenance of the National Geospatial Data Infrastructure and INSPIRE implementation. Technical infrastructure, web services and geoportal, data and services specifications – national interoperability framework on geospatial information and services, national policy on data and service sharing, coordination of the INSPIRE stakeholders, support to the National Committee for Geoinformation. Data production: Data production as an output of almost every activity. Relation to almost every INSPIRE theme, such as: • Atmospheric conditions • Land Use • Land Cover • Protected sites • Hydrography • Cadastral parcels • Buildings • Governmental Services and Environmental Monitoring facilities • Area management restrictions and reporting units • Natural risk zones • Habitats and Biotopes • Species distribution
