    <p>The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). The aim is to create prosperous, inclusive and sustainable communities for the 21st century, places where people want to live, that promote opportunity and a better quality of life for all.</p> <p>The ODPM and its predecessors have a long established role in the use and promotion of geographic information. ODPM remains at the forefront of geographic information activities both in relation to its internal use and cross government leadership. </p>
    Main Activities: 
    ODPM are develop a spatial database (Maps on Tap) that will allow policy-makers, analysts and other key users, including the public, with easy access to high quality information about places via a range of robust and reliable web-based, interactive information services. The service will allow users to choose related sets of data to be overlaid on a single map, providing powerful management and decision making information. Within the context of ODPM, the aim of these services will be to support the achievement of key business objectives including, as a priority: Development of sustainable communities, Renewal and regeneration of the most deprived areas, Improving the performance of regions.
