    Formal Mandate: 
    <p>The Piedmont Region, represented by the Organization, Planning, Development and Human Resources Management Regional Directorate and by the Town and Country Planning and Management Regional Directorate, directs and coordinates the provincial geographic information systems through the head of the Sistema Informativo Territoriale [Geographic Information System] Sector, and it also oversees the inter-exchange and the necessary connections with the regional information systems as well as with other subjects providing information, as described in a specific DGR (Regional Committee Resolution)</p>
    Main Activities: 
    Coordination, promotion and implementation of studies and research projects relating to geographic knowledge at regional level; management and promotion of the Geographic Information System, implementation of a series of tools and services, mainly on the web, that make it possible to have a transversal dialogue within the Piedmont Region and among different Piedmont Institutional Bodies
