Combined team of 50 geospatial experts operating within the Atkins group of companies.
Activities: 
Delivery of commercial geospatial consultancy. Major clients include the EEA, the UK Environment Agency, UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), UK Office Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), Danish State Railways, Krak Publishing firm, Plesner Law firm, Danish National Railway Agency, Danish Traffic Agency. Services include provision of strategic advice on GI and SDI issues, including research into the role of government in the GI data marketplace. Also delivery of technical software-based solutions (including internet mapping) and undertaking data processing and analysis. Strong project management skills in addition to technical and sector-based knowledge.

Comments: 
Atkins are working closely with the Data Access and Management group of the EEA on the technical delivery of INSPIRE objectives – specifically the “Neighbourhood Project”. We therefore have an intimate knowledge of the implementation challenges. We are able to link this to our strategic work for national government agencies, giving us a coherent view of the whole-life consequences of GI policies.
