SMAR is involved in many European projects that deal with spatial data, environmental information and international standards including INSPIRE related ones (e.g. ENVEUROPE - Environmental quality and pressure assessment across Europe: the LTER network as an integrated and shared system for ecosystem monitoring; JERICO - Toward a joint European research infrastructure network for coastal observatories; FIELD_AC - Fluxes, interactions and environment at the land-ocean boundary. Downscaling, Assimilation and Coupling; MYOCEAN - Development and pre-operational validation of upgraded GMES Marine Core services and capabilities).
The contact person was the JRC contact point for some of the INSPIRE Annex II and III themes, i.e. Environmental Monitoring Facilities, Oceanoghaphic Geographical Features, Sea Regions, Atmospheric Conditions and Meteorological Geographical Features, Observations and Measurements).
