Previous Experience relevant for INSPIRE development

The Earth and Environment Department of the CNR has been working (at the National and International level) on the following main areas: Earth System: interaction among land, sea, atmosphere and Biosphere; Global changes; Environmental systems quality; Water and land systems sustainability; Natural and man-made risks; Earth Observation; Pollution control and Environmental recovery. The Civil Protection Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers is the operative arm of the President of the Council, when it comes to coping with the protection of the country's people and goods, undergoing particular threats and dangers deriving from conditions of natural, environmental or anthropic risk. The mission of the Italian Ministry for the Environment and Territory considers the following main sectors: nature protection, quality of life, environmental research and development, environmental safeguard, soil defence.
