To provide platform for: - discussion on issues related to development and implementation of geospatial web services based on open standards - knowledge and technology exchange/transfer - relevant applied research and proofing stimulation - open standards adoption in wide GI community To help in: - understanding the complex technology standards - making clear distinction between open and proprietary standards and technology tools - promoting open standards and their use in geospatial services implementation efforts/projects

Activities: 
Open standards based geospatial services development and implementation. Workshops and virtual meetings on: - technical specifications discussions and development - implementation approaches - testing, benchmarking and prototyping - project related issues Seminars and promotional activity related to the SDIC’s objectives.
Membership: 
Any private, public or non-government entity, project team or individual taking interest in SDIC missions and objectives.
