Mission and Objectives: 
OKSTRA® (Objektkatalog für das Strassen- und Verkehrswesen) is a feature catalogue and application schema for road and traffic related data covering the whole life-cycle of a road and with the goal of a lossless exchange of road-related data. Many software vendors have integrated OKSTRA interfaces into their software products.

Mandate: 
OKSTRA has been introduced as a nationwide standard by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs. A group of representatives of the road authorities on the federal and state level in Germany coordinates all OKSTRA related activities. A maintenance center (OKSTRA Pflegestelle) is tasked with the maintenance of the OKSTRA standard.
Activities: 
- OKSTRA symposium organised by the Forschungsgesellschaft für das Strassen und Verkehrswesen (every two years) - Promotion of OKSTRA - Help desk for the OKSTRA standard - Processing and resolution of change requests to the standard - Revisions of OKSTRA standard - Provision of a validation tool
Membership: 
There is no formal membership, but the following type of organisations are in particular actively involved in OKSTRA activities in Germany: - Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs - Federal Highway Research Institute (BAST) - Road authorities in the German Länder - Developers and vendors of road/traffic related software products - Universities
