ThermoMap

Description
Organisation:
ThermoMap - cross border project with the aim to estimate the superficial geothermal potential (first 10 meters) out of already existing datasets with harmonisation of these datasets.
Acronym:
ThermoMap
Details
Mission and Objectives:
The mission is the data harmonisation of already existing datasets to estimate the superficial geothermal potential for depths up to 10 meters under the surface.
Formal Mandate:
International
Mandate:
ThermoMap is an EU funded project with several country partners across Europe (Austria, France, Belgium, Iceland, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Great Britain, and Germany). The partners are divided up into public institutions and private entities.
Activities:
Our first important activity was the meeting of the standardisation group and parameter definition group at the end of 2010. The aim of this meeting was to fix the relevant parameters for the estimation of the superficial geothermal potential. At the beginning of 2011 the consortium created the catalogue of data requirements and derivation rules. After that a standardisation instruction manual has been developed how to combine the collected datasets to estimate the superficial geothermal potential.
Membership:
The consortium is departed in: - Geological Surveys - Universities - Manufacturer of geothermal pipe systems - Engineering companies
Typology:
Thematic
