Money exchange
Operating currency in Belgium is the Euro (€, EUR).
Tipping
In Belgium, service and VAT are included in the menu price in restaurants, bars, etc. Tipping is not necessary, but is appreciated for good service. 5 to 10% is considered a good tip.
Visa
EU nationals
EU nationals do not require a visa to enter Belgium.
Non-EU nationals
Generally speaking, all other foreigners require a visa for stays in Belgium. A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days in an 180‑day period for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement.

Medical care
European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
If you have an EHIC card issued by an EU-member state, you can use your EHIC to access state healthcare Belgium.
In case of an emergency
In a serious, life-threatening emergency, call the pan-European number 112 free of charge from any mobile/cell phone or landline.
