"As the world leader in the geographic information
system (GIS) software industry for more than 40 years, ESRI has a long
tradition in supporting the establishment of SDI providing relevant technologies
as well as complementary consulting services. Those include non-technical
aspects like capacity building and organisational setup. ESRI’s solution
patterns for INSPIRE address the requirements of data and service providers
and consumers: Transforming existing data sources into INSPIRE compliant
data sets, publishing them via view- and download services meeting the
Quality-of-Service requirements, and enabling developers to implement
new services and applications on top of the INSPIRE infrastructure.”
Intergraph has harnessed the experience and insight
gained on successful implementations of national, regional and local SDIs
and its involvement in leading EU research projects, to develop comprehensive,
off-the-shelf solutions that enable your organisation to meet its obligations
under INSPIRE and create a true enterprise spatial information resource.
Our experience also means we can draw on the largest pool of geospatial
engineers with direct experience of INSPIRE implementation to support
you in scoping studies, design, implementation or training. Our capabilities
span metadata catalogues and services, data fusion and harmonisation,
all pre-requisite web services (including monitoring, service quality
and reporting), service brokering and fusion, DRM, eCommerce and geoportal
functionality.
Co-funded by the EU, OneGeology-Europe is an integrated data system, which allows to freely utilize through the web the first continental digital geological map at 1:1,000,000 scale, built up from 29 countries and European organizations. By setting up a geological data infrastructure, it makes existing digital geological spatial data more easily discoverable, accessible and useable and brings a significant contribution to the progress of INSPIRE by developing systems and protocols to better enable the discovery, viewing, downloading and sharing of core European spatial geological data.
After 40 years of intense activity EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) is an organisation which today represents 32 national institutions supported by several regional ones, making it the largest world consortium of geological surveys with a workforce of over 20,000 . As such it is in a position to provide the European Commission with answers to the ever-growing specific requests for high quality geoscientific information in the public interest.
