IGN, The National Institute of Geographic and Forestry Information, has a national mission in helping the French regions to meet the INSPIRE requirements on metadata and web services for spatial data. This mission is set by the French Ministry of Environment.
IGN uses Spatineo Monitor to report on the availability of the region’s spatial web services, and their compliance with the OGC and INSPIRE requirements. IGN uses Spatineo Performance to check the performance of the regions' services and that they comply to the INSPIRE capacity requirements. IGN reports to the French regions highlighting their strengths and areas of improvement.
In this presentation we will explain the French INSPIRE requirements, the work being done to comply to the requirements and how the regions are currently proceeding with the implementation of INSPIRE.
