Abstract

This paper aim is to present the successes and failures connected with an OGC Sensor Observation Service (SOS) implementation as an INSPIRE download service. In this case, this service operates on data concerning measurements and observations of meteorological and hydrological data, delivered by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – National Research Institute (IMGW-PIB) in Poland. This work is a part of ISOK project (National Information System Against Natural Hazards) leading by the consortium containing: National Water Management Authority (KZGW), IMGW-PIB, Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography (GUGiK), National Institute of Telecommunications and Government Centre for Security (RCB). Among other things, there will be discussed data mappings and application of 52°North SOS 4.4.0 specification in this paper. We also explain how we have dealt with some problems that occurred during implementation of this specific SOS-based INSPIRE download service.
