How to leverage available INSPIRE data

Ken Bragg and Dean Hintz

(Submission #297)

A multitude of INSPIRE datasets are now available with the potential to benefit organizations across numerous industries and governments in Europe. But how can organizations take advantage of INSPIRE data and services with their existing datasets and systems?

This workshop will discuss tools and methods available to import INSPIRE datasets into the application or GIS of their choice, how to integrate INSPIRE datasets with existing Spatial Data Infrastructure, and how to create web services to enhance spatial datasets with INSPIRE data.

Featuring hands-on components with FME, a data integration platform created by Safe Software, the session will be valuable to anyone interested in taking INSPIRE data and delivering it via web and mobile friendly services and formats, such as JSON, ArcGIS Online, PDF, KML, and image services.

Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how INSPIRE data can be utilized in a practical way by their organization.

Topic Area:  [2.9] Challenges and approaches to standardization of data and interoperability of systems.
