The creation of services based on EO information and data relies extensively on the intercommunication and interoperability of all subsystems and tools. The European landscape for systems supporting service creation is rapidly evolving in this sense, where INSPIRE and the Copernicus services are central pieces of the picture. A global picture will be presented for the creation of marine EO-based services and research activities, in the scope of the European projects such as SenSyF, Co-ReSyF, NextGEOSS and SIMOcean.
