INSPIRE Web Services for maritime affairs in Germany

Matthias Pramme

(Submission #131)

Abstract

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) is responsible for providing INSPIRE data for the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. This is not just seen as an obligation, in fact it is a chance to communicate with other institutes and agencies to share marine data in an interoperable and harmonized way. The presentation shows the current status and the experiences made at BSH. Furthermore it deals with the implementation details providing services for INSPIRE themes Annex I and Annex II and gives an outlook on the further work processes concerning to INSPIRE and other ISO profiles. So far BSH has implemented the themes Water Transport Network and Elevation, respectively the Bathymetry, as INSPIRE Web Services. The system architecture is based on FME with the INSPIRE Solution Pack and deegree-webservices. The INSPIRE services are part of the spatial data infrastructure of BSH (GDI-BSH) which can be accessed through the GeoSeaPortal (https://www.geoseaportal.de).
