Dejan Deordic

(Submission #218)

Abstract

An SDI consists of numerous decentralized and centralized organizational and technical components. These components enable sharing and further use of information and data across various organizations in public and private sector. In order to develop such SDI in consideration of all European Union, national and regional regulations adequate organizational effort and appropriate information technology is required. Only when all specifications and regulations agreed upon between all involved parties are simultaneously met, desired results can be expected at the end of the SDI chain. On the basis of the experience gained during the development of SDI-Baden-W├╝rttemberg as part of the national SDI, this presentation will show the necessity of quality management to overcome challenges with central components, metadata and SDI services, for example.
