(Submission #276)

Abstract

There is a lot to making a good conference from getting people to attend, create an engaging program, and turn it all into something valuable for the attendances. A conference that provides new knowledge, inspiration and insight can form a basis for better decision making when “back home”

A lot depends on the speakers as they create the conference canvas, stimulate coffee break conversations and are the information bearers. The assessment of a speaker is colored by the individual´s opinion, mood and interests. To some extent speakers can’t do much about that; but what a presenter can do –are obliged to do, really – is to speak with passion and commitment.

Disseminating highly professional and often very technical subjects are not an easy task. Lots of important information are lost when presenters use their speaking time telling us “all that they know” instead of telling us “what we need to know”. Clarity of thought and speak are most important qualities in a presenter.

This workshop is targeted to bring out the best in every speaker so that he or she can glow on stage while giving presentations that are both professional and engaging.

The participants will get to know and work with a series of methods, tools, tips and tricks that will enable him or her to share their stories with the audience in a trustworthy and curiosity creating way

Among the subjects this workshop covers are: - How to find your passion - How to involve the audience - How to target your presentation to the audience - How to prepare, structure and tell “the good story” - How to perform “live” – presentations techniques

The workshop is a mix of short introductions and exercises. Basis is the individual participant and his or her presentation but there will be ample possibility to join forces and share experiences and knowledge among the participants.

The participants will be provided with course material comprising a deck of sheets with key tools, relevant advice and guidelines, and suggestions for further reading on the topics. This material is for kee
