The OSGeo-Live environment provides pre-configured applications for a range of geospatial use cases, including storage, publishing, viewing, analysis and manipulation of data. It also contains sample datasets and documentation.
The idea to adapt the widely used OSGeo-Live bundle of open source tools (OSGeo-Live, 2017) to facilitate the work of European dataproviders for their INSPIRE obligations could be a starting point to establish a sustainable eco-system based on open source technology in Europe.
Action is taken to adapt the several OSGeo-projects to better support the INSPIRE needs. Next step is to collect use-case examples and data samples to create an environment that can be used to boost an INSPIRE implementation based on free available technology and tools.
In this talk, we will give an overview of the state of the art and discuss the existing gaps between the open source geospatical software and inspire implementation needs.
