Stephan Arnold

(Submission #328)

Abstract

The EAGLE groupĀ“s idea of sharing information on landscape and comparable data on land cover and land use has been technically manifested in the EAGLE concept with the EAGLE data model. Since the first version of the concept has been documented and presented to the European Environmental Agency and the wider European land monitoring community, several use cases of the concept in different fields of work has evolved. Even not being implemented as an INSPIRE standard, the EAGLE concept is influencing the re-structuring of existing and the design of newly created datasets towards being INSPIRE compliant on the themes land cover and land use. The presentation give an brief (!) introduction to the EAGLE concept and highlights some use cases on national level, which one by one and paint by paint contribute to the bigger picture of a pan-European bottom-up approach of harmonized land monitoring data.
