Data distribution from Geonorge.no using FME

Knut Olav Sunde

(Submission #334)

Abstract

The presentation is covering the data distribution part of the Norwegian Geoportal Geonorge.no, and the technology and techniques used behind the scenes. Geonorge.no is a place for one-stop shopping Norwegian geospatial data. More than 500 data sets and services are now made accessible through the geoportal. The portal contains meta data organized in a meta data catalogue, a user interface for previewing and ordering data and functionality for data download.

Since 2015 Geodata AS has assisted The Norwegian Mapping Authority to develop the data distribution, as a distribution of fixed files, data download services and ATOM-feeds with SOSI and GML as the most important standards. The data distribution has successfully been implemented with FME. Currently there are created more than 700 FME Workspaces as part of the Geonorge Data Distribution. More than 200 FME Desktop jobs are operating continuously, well managed by Jenkins job management system. More than 300 FME Server Services are available to the users for on-demand jobs.
