he « Geoinformation for the sea and the coast » working-group (GIMeL) reports to the French national council for geoinformation (CNIG), coordinating structure for INSPIRE in France. The GIMeL aims, on one hand, to determine reference geodata sets for the sea and the coast, meeting the users’ needs, and on the other hand ease national administrations and public bodies to build up agreements which state for each geodata sets ; production terms, up dating and access. The GIMeL gathers prominent geodata sets providers and « sea and coast » stake-holders : French Navy's Hydrographic and Oceanographic body (SHOM), biodiversity French agency (AFB), French research institute for exploitation of the sea (Ifremer), Expertise center for energy and supportive transition (Cerema), National Museum of Natural History (MNHN), State, and local authorities. The presentation will focus on the 2018 outcomes : Comprehensive inventory of reference or regulation geodata sets that users need, Definition and delineation of the different coastlines, Definition of an offshore grid reference, and upcoming perspectives of the GIMeL for 2018 – 19.
