Is it easier or harder to implement INSPIRE in a small country – story from Iceland.
Iceland, a country with litle under 350.000 inhabitants, not part of EU but still obligated to implement INSPIRE. The Icelandic INSPIRE implementation team of four people is placed at the National Land Survey of Iceland, partly working with INSPIRE.
In the presentation we will try to give some examples of how the complex implementation of INSPIRE is done with few people in a small country, the pros and cons. We will put emphasis on cooperation, quick decision making and the goal "keep it simple".
The use of open source solutions will be brought up as well as the cooperation with private companies and how to deal with the "resistance group" or the small kings.
