(Submission #182)

Abstract

The Dutch SDI PDOK (Public Services On the Map) is a central platform that supplies GEO datasets of national importance to many governmental and non-governmental organizations via web services, APIs, Linked Data and downloads. One of the strenghts of PDOK is that it is a joint venture between various governmental organizations in the Netherlands.

In the past 5 years PDOK has grown from 41 datasets to more than 130 datasets (some datasets contains more than 30 featuretypes). 68 of these are covering INSPIRE themes. Actual and reliable information is provided for both the public and the private sector. PDOK services are based on open data and are available to everyone for free. PDOK services comply with national and international standards, including the European INSPIRE standards and Dutch e-government standards.

PDOK is also responsible for the governance of the National Geo Registry (NGR). In NGR you will find metadata of PDOK services, as well as more than 10.000 metadata records of Dutch datasets, including nearly 500 web services. NGR is the platform for geodata (metadata) in the Netherlands. For Europe, the NGR is the gateway to Dutch INSPIRE data.

In the past year, the data platform /website of PDOK has been renewed. We would like to explain to you what the new concept contains and how the new components and processes work, such as data sets on theme, monitoring, forum and harmonizing the INSPIRE datasets.
