The new INSPIRE Thematic cluster collaborative platform - overview of major changes and functionalities

Robert Tomas

(Submission #206)

The INSPIRE Thematic Clusters on-line collaboration platform was set up and is developed and maintained with the objective of supporting INSPIRE implementation in the Member States. During more than 3.5 years of activity, the platform has played the following roles:

• On-line INSPIRE users collaborative platform - to share

• User’s implementation “knowledge base” - to find

• Incubator for change/addition proposals - to propose (e.g. 1st set of corrigenda published end of 2016; evaluation collected MS proposals of the second round 2017-18)

• Discussion forum for e.g. links with other environmental policies - to discuss It has reached almost 1000 registered members, many more are just using the platform without any registration and created interesting “knowledge base” related to concrete INSPIRE implementation in MS.
The user feedback, collected via on-line survey, as well as experience of facilitators, MIG-T liaisons and the EC coordination led to the modification/update of the platform in terms of the its structure (e.g. 2 cross cutting clusters were added), content (e.g. complete re-classification based on the improved controlled list of tags and categories) as well as its better alignment with new policy requirements (Priority datasets of eReporting, INSPIRE MIWP Activities etc.). The proposed oral presentation will give an overview of the new/updated INSPIRE TC collaboration platform highlighting the major changes.
