(Submission #216)

Abstract

This workshop is an open forum for discussion of FME use cases, challenges, and successes as related to the implementation of INSPIRE and use of INSPIRE data. The workshop is divided into two 90 minute segments: implementing INSPIRE, and creating INSPIRE mashups. Within each segment, three discussion topics will be opened with 10 minute presentations that highlight tips & tricks, best practices, and/or user examples. Each presentation will be followed by 20 minutes of open discussion where users can present challenges, pose questions, provide product feedback suggestions, and share experiences with peers.

Within the Implementing INSPIRE Using FME segment, the following topics will be discussed: schema & geometry transformation, creating INSPIRE GML & ATOM feeds, and the light-weight approach of implementing INSPIRE in the cloud. Within the Automating INSPIRE Mashups using FME segment, the following topics will be discussed: mashing up INSPIRE data with in-house data & satellite imagery such as Copernicus, near real-time delivery of INSPIRE data to the public, and connecting services and APIs to simplify sharing INSPIRE data.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their ideas, feedback, suggestions, tips & tricks and questions on how to implement INSPIRE with FME, and how to leverage INSPIRE data using FME.
