The future of INSPIRE, INSPIRE what if….?

Ine de Visser, Piet Hein Minnecré and ouns kissiyar

(Submission #255)

From a legal perspective the implementation of INSPIRE has to be finalised by 2021. The question arises however what will happen after this deadline? From a practical point of view maintenance is absolutely critical to ensure INSPIRE can deliver its full potential and remain relevant in an era of ever increasing technological advances. What role will the current stakeholders need to play? And what role will they effectively play? Who will be the new stakeholders ? What are the expected life-cycles of the infrastructure and what meaningfull steps can we take now to future proof the investments that have been made?

In an age that seems to be characterised by disruptive change (be it political or technological) it pays to prepare for the unexpected ... come and discuss the future of INSPIRE
