Blockchain wallet for buildings

Joris Hoogeboom and Tine Vande Casteele

(Submission #356)

Abstract

We present a proof of concept that provides buildings in Flanders with a unique blockchain identity. This identity can be enriched by matching (attaching) different permits, contracts etc. These validated documents and data can be shared with the different stakeholders of the building (owners, renters, government). The different permits and documents that are known in the government are attached to the building and the blockchain gives the proof of the authenticity. A citizen can also attached several documents and data to the building and gain information or adquire automatically in this way subsidies related to the building. If an owner of a building changes the information can be shared with the new owners who see a the history of the building. We will share the learning outcome of this proof of concept and give an overview of the next steps in this development.
