GOPEG workshop: Practicing FAIRness for geospatial and cross-border data
The GO-PEG (Generation of cross border Pan European Geospatial Datasets and Services) project, co-funded by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) instrument of the European Commission, brings together well-known data harmonisation experts in a Consortium of ICT SMEs with the primary objective of fostering access to and efficient (re)use of high-value harmonised thematic open datasets in the fields of environment, emergency and disaster management.
This final workshop of the project will present the methodology used to implement the FAIR principles and assess the FAIRness of the spatial data produced by the project, and will share experiences and lessons learned.
Five speeches by representatives of the European institutions will address current and future trends in data policy, expected challenges, status-quo of data policies implementation (e.g. high-value datasets, data spaces, data 'FAIRification'), focusing on how to boost and sustain a true data economy.
