I have extensive experience with building data through development of tools and applications based on IFC data about buildings. I am expert in IFC data model which is much more detailed than CityGML or INSPIRE Data Specification on Buildings but can be rich source of such a data.

I do research in the area of Building Information Modelling. I worked on the projects where we developed new tools and processes to handle BIM data in IFC format. I worked on the project of integration of GIS and BIM data of the Virtual NewcastleGateshead city model. I have experience with STEP encoding standard which is used for IFC data model. This can be potentially rich source of building data.
