INSPIRE applications and software components Expertise:
Thematic knowledge related to one or more INSPIRE themes Expertise:
Over the past years I was involved in several projects applying INSPIRE related technology, tools, and standards in different thematic domains. These domains comprise for example hydrology (e.g. FP7 project GEOWOW and national professional services projects for stakeholders such as the German Federal Waterways Administration), air quality (e.g. professional services for the EEA), health (e.g. FP7 project EO2HEAVEN), risk/disaster management (e.g. FP6 project OSIRIS) and oceanography (e.g. FP7 projects NeXOS and FixO3). My focus in this context is on the application of OGC Sensor Web standards for the interoperable exchange of observation data.
Cross-cutting technical issues and INSPIRE architecture Expertise:
Data and service sharing Expertise:
Monitoring and reporting Expertise:
Through a project with the European Environment Agency, EEA (see CV), I am involved in the Air Quality e-Reporting initiative, which is based on the European Commission's Implementing Decision 2011/850/EU of 12 December 2011 (laying down rules for the air quality directive in force as regards the reciprocal exchange of information and reporting on ambient air quality).
Interoperability Expertise:
Within a broad range of research and software development/consulting projects I have gained experiences with relevant technologies (XML/XML schemas, OGC services), tools (UML modelling) and standards (e.g. O&M, SOS, SensorML, WCS). For further details on selected projects in this field, please refer to my CV.
