Biogeographical regions 2016 GML dataset example

Dear all,

I've just uploaded a gml dataset conformant to Bio-geographicalRegions.xsd. It's the result of the transformation of source dataset according to INSPIRE BR application schema.

The gml dataset is also available as WFS service at

you can get a WMS preview at (clicking on the ‘+ ‘ icon on the right and selecting relevant layer).

The gml file as well as the WFS and WMS services were developed in the framework of a feasibility study commissioned by the EEA.

More information on available web services can be found in the Biodiversity and Management Areas Cluster main group relevant pages.

Best regards

    Dear Stefania,

Does this mean that you, or the EEA, are providing this dataset as an INSPIRE dataset in the INSPIRE geoportal? And that our national obligation is fulfilled this way?

    Best regards,

    Dear Wim,

as I already wrote, the gml file, as well as the WFS and WMS services, were developed in the framework of a feasibility study i.e. they were not meant to be an 'official' delivery.

They are just an example of how a GML dataset conformant to INSPIRE BR data model can be created and served by means of View and Download services.
