Urban Audit Data

Hi,

Has anyone harmonized Urban Audit Data in Statistical Units Theme? If so, what Schema did you used?

The Draft Schema for Urban Audit?

    Hiya,

Seriously doubt anybody has done this, because otherwise there'd be a version 4.0 out there!

Problem is there's a little error in the 3.0 schema version, a slash (/) somehow got lost in one of the initial import statements (Slash missing between 3.0 and StatisticalUnitVector.xsd):

    <import namespace="http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/schemas/su-vector/3.0" schemaLocation="http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/schemas/su-vector/3.0StatisticalUnitVector.xsd"/>

When this is fixed, the rest at least seems like a valid schema (XMLSpy stops complaining!)

    :)

    Hy Kathi,

    You nail it again!

I noticed that this is a draft schema, and could not load in Hale, and the reason was indeed the Slash.

Once you correct it works fine in Hale. But needed to download the schema and import the target schema from this new file in Hale.

Anyway I'm not sure If I should use draft schema.

problem is that though your local version is then fixed, stuff still won't work properly, as the official version is still defunct.

Question: what are you trying to do with this? Make existing data available or report new stuff?

Background to this question: from what I've seen in INSPIRE, there were several attempts to provide schemata for existing reporting obligations. After a bit of thought one realized that including reporting specifications within the legal INSPIRE framework makes it almost impossible to adjust the reporting schemata at a later date. I'd have been all for leaving schemata for old reporting obligations in, marking that not valid for reporting purposes, but does provide a beautiful container for the data that has been reported; at the end a different approach was selected, all reporting schemata were cut (i.e. left as drafts)

If what you're trying to do is provide data reported under the 2009 or 2011 Urban Atlas, it would still make sense to use the existing (draft) extensions; its valid INSPIRE (as all the mandatory core parts are INSPIRE), and its more standardized than if you reinvent this wheel. Just need to make it available online somewhere.

I played a little more with the schema, shifted it to V4 of the underlying SU and AU schemata, online at:

    Hello again Kathi!

Answering your question I want to publish the Portuguese data from Urban Audit 2011 (Urban Atlas).

Thanks for shifting to V4 SU/AU schema! and your thoughts!
