PID management: a key topic to leveraging of INSPIRE data

Leveraging INSPIRE data (open, interoperable, web served) for the public good has undoubtedly been a leitmotiv of INSPIRE Conference 2017. In this context, one of the major challenges regards the management of INSPIRE PIDs (Persistent Identifiers), used to identify spatial datasets and individual spatial objects. If we really want third parties to re-use INSPIRE data, these latter must be easily discoverable + referenceable by trustable and long-term persistent Identifiers. How to create and manage standardized PIDs for INSPIRE resources has been a topic for different presentations during the last Conference.
