Eurostat Census Hub and INSPIRE
Dear all,
I would like to share this for you as community interesting information:
After the presentation at the INSPIRE Conference 2018 Statistics Denmark took contact to Eurostat to ask for a confirmation that the INSPIRE obligations in regard of data transformation to INSPIRE PD and establishment of INSPIRE View and Download Service will be fulfilled by Eurostat 2021 Census Hub.
Statistics Denmark received a very positive answer from Eurostat: "By using the Census Hub, Member States will fulfil their obligations under INSPIRE in relation to the 1km square grid data from the 2021 Census transmitted under Regulation (EU) 2018/1799."
For your information: Article 12 (2) in 2018/1799 says: "For the purposes of this Regulation, the programme of the 1 km2 grid data and metadata to be transmitted by Member States and disseminated by Eurostat corresponds to the data that Member States disseminate at national level in accordance with Directive 2007/2/EC and its implementing Regulations (EC) No 1205/2008, (EC) No 976/2009 and (EU) No 1089/2010.", where
No 1205/2008 = Metadata
No 976/2009 = Network Services
No 1089/2010 = Data Specifications
Dear Lars, Dear all,
I am happy to inform that Eurostat along with JRC prepared an INSPIRE Good Practice for providing INSPIRE compliant data from Census 2021 using SDMX. Have a look here:
https://inspire.ec.europa.eu/forum/discussion/view/261536/inspire-good-practice-sdmx-for-human-health-and-population-distribution
and feel free to comment until 10/10/2019. Then the good practice will be presented to the INSPIRE MIG-T.
Thank you very much, Mirosław! I have forwarded the paper to the Danish Statistical Agency.
