Proposal for a session/workshop on the INSPIRE Conference in Dubrovnik 2020

Dear all,

Is there anyone interested in a joint session or workshop on the re-use of the INSPIRE Reference Validator?

As you might know, we are currently developing a new version of our national validator (GDI-DE Testsuite) which will include the conformance classes of the INSPIRE Reference Validator. Likely, the new GDI-DE Testsuite will be launched before the INSPIRE Conference in Dubrovnik (scheduled release is the 1st quarter 2020). Other member states might have similar activities or future plans to re-use the INSPIRE Reference Validator in their own testing environments (see also #162). Thus, it could be worthwhile for all to organise a session or workshop on the re-use of the INSPIRE Reference Validator and share experiences ("lessons learned") on this topic. We would be pleased to hear your feedback and if you’re interested to contribute to such a session.

Best regards,
Anja und Daniela

    Dear Anja and Daniela,

thanks for your message and the idea to propose a session for the INSPIRE Conference 2020. The deadline for submissions has been extended to January 15 so there is still time to plan this session.

We (the JRC validation Team) encourage you to organise this session. We would be interested in participating with a talk on the latest news and new features of the INSPIRE Validator, but we agree with you that the main focus of the session should be on experiences (benefits, challenges and lessons learnt) from organisations within Member States using or re-using the Validator.

We also hope that some more organisations are willing to contribute, and invite everyone to share their feedback here.

    Best regards,

    Marco

    Dear Marco and all,

thanks for your support and your interest. We are still interested in organising this session. Since we have only received one additional contribution from Germany so far, we have not yet submitted a proposal for a session, but a proposal for our own presentation.

If there are more interested organisations until 14.01.2020, we will add a proposal for a corresponding session. Please indicate your interest here.

    Best regards,

    Anja und Daniela

    Dear Anja and Daniela,

although no additional feedback has been provided, we still encourage you to submit a session proposal on the INSPIRE Validator and experiences/lessons learnt related to its reuse in Member States (especially if your own talk proposal and the proposal for the other contribution from Germany were submitted). Then we will see whether the session will be confirmed or not.

    Best regards,

    Marco

    Dear Marco,

thanks again for your support. Since the call for abstracts is closed now or closes very soon (?) we are no more able to submit a session proposal. Sorry. We hope to get into a discussion/ an exchange about reusing the INSPIRE validator in Member States at the Conference, anyway.

    Best regards,

    Daniela

    Dear all,

it is a lamentable situation, that the call for abstracts was closed at the same day, when the early bird registration was opened. To be able to attend the conference usually needs a travel authorization request with official authorities. This cannot be done in one day. Please consider to re-open the call for abstracts and proposals for workshops at least for a short while.

If not foreseen anyway, I would suggest to have a workshop "Best Practise Examples of Providing Services on Biodiverity-Themes".

I would offer to give a talk on "Common approach of the German Federal States to perform the data provision on biodiversity themes"

    Best regards,

    Dirk
