Endorsement of TG-WCS Download service & TG Metadata v2.0 by INSPIRE MIG
This is to inform you that the INSPIRE-MIG has completed an important milestone with the completion of more than 2 years of work under the 2014-2016 MIWP, as informed by Michael Lutz (MIF technical coordinator).
During the 5th_MIG-P_meeting hold on 30th November - 1st December 2016, the following documents prepared by the MIG-T and MIG sub-groups MIWP-6, 7a, 7b and 8 were endorsed (pending a scrutiny reserve from France - see details below*):
Those documents highlighted in bold above (Download service TG - WCS and Metadata TG v2.0) are really relevant for INSPIRE implementation in the scope of Thematic Cluster #3 on Elevation, Orthoimagery, Coordinate reference systems and Geographical grids.
It is particularly important for our implementation work the publication of the rules for providing coverage data through Web Coverage Services (WCS), download services.
This also means that MIG-T subgroups MIWP-7b and MIWP-8 have completed their activities.
The final versions of these documents will be published very soon in the INSPIRE knowledge base.
Best regards,
Jordi

*Scrutiny reserve from FR:
FR will submit the prepared documents to a national stakeholder consultation (until end of January) only after approval by the MIG, as foreseen as an option under the workflow of the MIWP 2014-2016. Since all other MIG members endorsed the documents in their current versions and some documents have been eagerly awaited, the following compromise was agreed: The documents will be published already now (with a footnote explaining the scrutiny reserve). If the public consultation in FR will result in minor changes, these will be integrated and a bug-fix version (e.g. 3.0.1) will be published. If they result in major change proposals that would need to be discussed with the entire MIG, these change proposals will be discussed at the next MIG meeting (in June 2017), and if agreed, a new minor version (e.g. 3.1) will be published.
To avoid a similar situation in the future and speed up the endorsement and publication of documents in the future, the new workflow for the MIWP 2016-2020 will clarify at what stage such consultation will be carried out.

Iurie MAXIMHi Jordi,
The link to the 5th MIG-P link is wrong (broken link). I think that it should point to https://ies-svn.jrc.ec.europa.eu/projects/mig-p/wiki/5th_MIG-P_meeting
