INSPIRE Registry

INSPIRE Registry

The INSPIRE infrastructure involves a number of items, which require clear descriptions and the possibility to be referenced through unique identifiers. Examples for such items include INSPIRE themes, code lists, application schemas or discovery services. Registers provide a means to assign identifiers to items and their labels, definitions and descriptions (in different languages).

The INSPIRE Registry provides a central access point to a number of centrally managed INSPIRE registers. The content of these registers are based on the INSPIRE Directive, Implementing Rules and Technical Guidelines.

The registry is based on the Re3gistry software, which is being developed by the Are3NA project as part of the Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations (ISA) Programme. ARe3NA aims at establishing a Reusable INSPIRE Reference Platform, which is identifying and developing common components for the successful implementation of the INSPIRE Directive.

Feel free to either browse the useful links below to find information, support or examples about this central infrastructural component of the INSPIRE architecture, or open a new discussion topic to solve your questions, share views or issues regarding the INSPIRE Registry.

The Re3gistry is a reusable open source solution for managing and sharing ‘reference codes’, ensuring concepts are correctly referenced in INSPIRE, or for content in any other sector. Are3NA is currently working with software users and Member States to make improvements and create a federation of registries for use in multiple information systems.

This of a wiki page of the INSPIRE Maintenance and Implementation Group (MIG) dealing with the daily development of the Re3gistry software and the INSPIRE registers and registry service (service and content).

It constitutes an essential piece of the workflow for the maintenance of the INSPIRE Registry.

Visit this wiki page if you are interested in participating in testing new release candidates of the software or service, or to provide active feedback on on-going developments.
