From 18-21 september 2018 Belgium and The Netherlands, together with the European Commission are organising the INSPIRE conference in Antwerpen. With more than 250 presentations and workshops, a large exhibition and a venue situated in the heart of the beautiful historical city of Antwerp we are ready to host more than 1000 enthusiastic delegates from all over Europe, and beyond. The INSPIRE conference 2018 will be a real milestone. The conference provides a forum for discussion, exchange of new ideas, for the establishment of new friendships and collaborations and for the dissemination of recent acquired knowledge and experience.

Proud to present

We are proud to present the first confirmed honoured guests who will share their views with us in the plenaries. In the opening plenary, we welcome European Commission Vice-President Andrus Ansip, responsible for the Digital Single Market.   Mrs. Dorine Burmanje, vice chair United Nations – GGIM and CEO of the National Mapping Agency and Cadastre The Netherlands will present Global Policy and goals for our planet. In the same track Mr. Piero Bruni from Italy will tell his personal story on protecting the Lago di Bolsena and his interest and need for access to public environmental data.  Mr. Daniel Calleja, Director General of DG Environment, European Commission  will moderate the opening plenary.

On Wednesday we focus on the transition to a green economy and INSPIRE. Mrs. Nathalie Girouard, OECD Environment Directorate and Head of Environmental Performance and Information Division, will take us into the world of green growth and sustainable development. For Mrs. Janneke Hadders – CEO of  Dacom Farm Intelligence, The Netherlands,  large amounts of data are key to their services that help improve crops and bring down costs. We are also pleased to announce the innovator Mr. Arash Aazami, whose business model for how an energy supplier can earn more money by selling less energy has won awards from MIT and will undoubtedly pave the way for the sustainable energy of the future. Hans Bruyninckx - Executive Director of the European Environment Agency will moderate this session.

Thursday is ‘Digital transformation, Digital transition’ day. We welcome entrepreneur Mrs. Valrie Grant  who will share her views how spatial data infrastructures can evolve to ensure the most efficient sharing of information. Mr. Alessandro Annoni  Head of the Digital Economy Unit, JRC will moderate this session.

On Friday we welcome Mr. Roeland Samson, leading scientist of the citizen science project ‘Curieuze Neuzen’ in Belgium where over 45.000 volunteers are measuring air quality.
