INSPIRE Marine Pilot

In order to facilitate the obligations of INSPIRE and the Marine Strategy Framework Directive for sharing marine spatial data, it is necessary to understand the technical requirements of MSFD and INSPIRE and to develop processes that accommodate their respective needs. A Marine Pilot project was developed and implemented with participation of interested Member States, the European Environment Agency (EEA), the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODNET), the regional sea conventions, and the European Commission. The aim of the Marine Pilot is to promote the use of INSPIRE in the management of marine spatial data. INSPIRE facilitates the sharing and re-use of marine spatial data. The video illustrates this.
